Yesterday, representatives of the Polish space ecosystem met at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology to discuss the opportunities created by the increased Polish contribution to the European Space Agency (ESA). Piotr ZabadaĆa, Chair of the Polish Delegation to ESA, together with the delegation members, presented the key strategic areas that will benefit from this investment. These include satellite technologies, Earth observation systems, dual-use technologies, space security and transportation, secure communication and navigation systems, as well as technologies and instrumentation for future missions. For the Polish space sector, this represents a major opportunity for growth - strengthening industrial capabilities, supporting innovation, and enabling companies and research institutes to scale their activities in Europe and globally. The ACCESS programme, presented by Ida Matysek, supports the development and demonstration of breakthrough technologies and strengthens collaboration between research teams, startups, and industrial partners. Programs like ACCESS are key to ensuring that promising ideas can evolve into scalable solutions and real missions.ESA Phi-Lab Poland, as part of the ACCESS programme, plays a crucial role in transforming these opportunities into high-impact technological developments. By supporting cutting-edge research in AI, robotics, and autonomy, Phi-Lab Poland helps accelerate the maturation of innovative solutions and their transfer to industry.
The ESA Phi-Lab Poland team also had the pleasure of meeting with colleagues from ESA BIC Poland and the ESA Technology Broker Poland network during the event. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss our upcoming joint online meeting, to which we warmly invite everyone interested in collaboration within the space innovation ecosystem.
